How to get here

By Car and Ferry

There are two ferry services that you can take to reach the island both operated by Caledonian MacBrayne. One goes from Uig on the Isle of Skye (connected to the mainland by bridge) to Tarbert in Harris, and the other goes from Ullapool (on the mainland, approximately an hour from Inverness) to Stornoway.  Gravir is roughly halfway between Stornoway and Tarbert.

By Air

There is also an airport in Stornoway, with regular flights from Inverness, Glasgow, Aberdeen and Edinburgh airports, as well as to other Hebridian islands. All of these airports have connections throughout the UK, and Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen also serve international destinations. Cars are available for hire at Stornoway Airport.
